NEW for 2010 - Two exciting new Arts Bursaries
£8,000 Arts Bursary
The Milton Keynes Community Foundation has launched an £8,000 ArtsBursary that will be awarded to a local artist this year. The bursary award isintended to support the professional development of a promising local talent.If you have lived in the Milton Keynes Unitary Authority area for the past12 months and you are either an emerging or aspiring artist with the desireto develop your skills and artistic career, then you may be eligible to apply.The bursary is available to artists working in any medium.As the successful artist, you will be able to use the award for equipment,materials, space, facilities, training, travel or even living costs. If you wish,the award can help enable you to reduce your hours of employment to allowyou to focus on developing your art work/career.
£2,000 Arts & Crafts Bursary
Are you a local artist who specialises in traditional arts and crafts?The Milton Keynes Community Foundation is proud to announce the launchof the Adams Bursary for Traditional Arts and Crafts. This bursary will beawarded to a local artist involved in traditional arts, including stone masonry,wood work, jewellery, ceramics/pottery, glass, mosaics, textiles, furniture,metalwork and the restoration of paintings, sculptures or buildings.The successful artist will be able to use the funds for materials,tools and/or training.
The deadline for applications for both bursaries is September 10 2010.
