Chris Yates

Having completed a degree in Textiles in the 1980s aimed at working in the Textile Industry, I have spent the last 6 years pursuing a more artistic interpretation of Textiles. I love to experiment with new ideas and techniques as this gives me great satisfaction and endless sources of inspiration and development. My work involves utilising different colouring mediums combined with hand and machine stitch and often has quite a graphical feel to it. I create soft hangings, framed pieces and 3D pieces – the variety is what challenges and drives me.
