Karen Wyeth

I am a Contemporary Felt Artist creating warm and vibrant textile pictures.

Each picture I create is unique, being individually hand crafted using traditional felting techniques with contemporary free machine embroidery and hand stitching.  I use pure merino wool and silk and also add in Angelina fibres, wool nepps and bamboo tops to give added shine, sparkle and texture.

I work both from life and from my extensive collection of photographs that I have taken.  The main inspiration for my work is colour and light.  Brilliant turquoise seas, sunny yellow rapeseed fields, brightly coloured cupcakes are all subjects that inspire me.

My art has been described as 'a riot of happy colours' and my ethos is to offer people art “to make their lives bigger, better and brighter, something to take their minds off their troubles in life" (Alfred East 1911).

I also have a range of Fine Art Giclee prints available.

'Karen produces fabulously colourful and detailed pictures ... the Giclee prints are so detailed, you can almost feel the texture of the original piece.' - The Hayrack Gallery, Upper Stowe.

Details of my work and contact information can be found on and on my Facebook page, KarenWyethFeltArtist.
